Adams Morgan Day Festival

by admin on July 31, 2009

The Adams Morgan neighborhood is rich in culture and arts, and each year on Adams Morgan Day the entire community is recognized and celebrated for its diversity of countries, cultures, food, art, and unique businesses. The Adams Morgan Day Festival, first held in 1978, is considered to be America’s biggest block party. People come from near and far to experience the unique and charismatic atmosphere of this wonderful blend of cultures.

The celebration includes festivities such as Arts on Belmont, which showcases the handiwork of local artists and artisans. Everything from ceramics, jewelry, and metalwork to sculptures and photography is included.

There is also a seemingly never ending supply of live music, dancing, workshops and entertainment. A Kid’s Fair is located on Marie Reed school grounds with educational activities for all ages and a Jazz in the Park event takes place in Kalorama Park. Besides all of the entertainment, there is a huge selection of international cuisine, jewelry, clothing and specialty items. This event is held every year and one you won’t want to miss.
